Film Festival Wonderland fundraiser
“We’re all mad here!” – The Cheshire Cat to Alice
Save the date of Aug. 20 for a one-of-a-kind event to raise funds for the upcoming 24th Wine Country Film Festival – Wonderland.
Wonderland takes place from 6-10 p.m. at Chateau St. Jean Winery in Kenwood.
Festivities include a Lawn Croquet Tournament hosted by the Queen of Hearts. Bay Area croquet pros will be on hand to teach beginners how to play the game. There will be a Cheshire Cat costume contest, Mad Hatter Wicket Shoot, a Tea Cup toss, silent auction, live music, dining al fresco and short films by Tim Burton on the estate’s lawn. Join in the fun! There will be games, prizes, and activities for young people (16+) and adults.
The fundraiser is a benefit for the Wine Country Film Festival’s environmental and student internship programs. Chateau St Jean wines, a mixed barbeque, salads, snacks, desserts and beverages will be available for purchase.
Lawn chairs or a blanket and jacket for lawn dining and movie watching are recommended. VIP seating is also available.
Tickets are now on sale, ranging from $12.50 to $25. For event details email wcfilmfest@aol.com, or call student intern Casey Grant at 935-3456.
Wine Country Film Festival is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about the arts, the environment and cultural exchange. This year’s festival is scheduled for Sept. 15-26.
If you would like to volunteer to work the Aug. 20 Wonderland party, call Casey at 935-3456. Volunteers will receive a Film Festival T-Shirt and free tickets to September film screenings.
