Robert Ferguson Observatory
Saturday August 23rd - 11:00amThe Robert Ferguson Observatory in Sugarloaf Ridge State Park will have public solar and night sky viewings on Aug. 23.
Solar viewing takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Solar telescopes will be set up to safely look at and listen to the sun. Admission is free. There is an $8 Sugarloaf parking fee.
The Public Star Party starts at 9 p.m., when the observatory’s three main telescopes (plus many more) will be open for viewing. There will be ongoing presentations on astronomical topics and friendly and knowledgeable docents will be on hand to answer questions. Admission is $3 per adult (kids under 18 are free), and the Sugarloaf parking fee is $8. Go to www.rfo.org for more information.
