How to Avoid the Sixth Mass Extinction: Ethical Dimensions Quarryhill Botanical Garden

Saturday August 20th - 5:00pm

This lecture, by Paul R. Ehrlich, Bing Professor of Population Studies, Department of Biological Sciences, Stanford University, will discuss the Earth’s sixth great mass extinction – which is upon us now. Not enough is being done and time is short for the most vulnerable of the world’s wild birds and mammals. Thousands of populations have already disappeared, other populations are dwindling daily, and soon our descendants may live in a world containing but a minuscule fraction of the birds and mammals we know today.

The talk begins at 5:30 p.m. and costs $25 for members, $35 for nonmembers. To purchase tickets, go to or call 996-3166.
