La Luz and GE Forum team up for free community dinner
Sunday June 3rd - 4:00pmCesar Chavez said, “If you really want to make a friend, go to someone’s house and eat with him… the people who give you their food give you their heart.”
La Luz and the Glen Ellen Forum are all about heart, and community. On Sunday, June 3, 4-8 p.m., they are coming together for a free community dinner, which the La Luz Center is hosting at Booker Hall (17560 Greger St., Sonoma).
This is the Forum’s third such endeavor since starting out 19 months ago. “We are still the new kids on the block and there is so much we can learn from La Luz that will help our community. It was a natural fit for us to work together,” said Leslie Vaughn.
Co-founded by Vaughn and Jim Shere, the Forum began in October 2016. La Luz was founded in 1985 by a small group of volunteers led by Ligia Booker, and they are a catalyst for change in the valley through health, education and financial security.
“We look forward to a long, wonderful relationship with La Luz and specifically Angie Sanchez, their community engagement manager,” said Vaughn.
The Glen Ellen Forum’s Community Engagement Committee will work hand-in-hand with Sanchez and La Luz to oversee the organization of this event.
“It’s food that brings us together, the music will lighten our hearts, and friendships will feed our souls,” said Vaughn.
Please come on June 3 from 4-8 p.m.
