“The American Presidency and the American Dream – The Role of Leadership" Oakmont Berger Center

This month the Oakmont Lifelong Learning Institute presents a lively public policy discussion on two key issues, moderated by Professor Emeritus Richard Kerizan. The classes include pre-taped panel discussions from the nonpartisan Panetta Institute for Public Policy. Kezirian is a Professor Emeritus, Monterey Pennisula College.

On Wednesday, June 20, the topic is “The American Presidency and the American Dream – The Role of Leadership,” which will be presented as a YouTube video feed with moderator Leon Panetta and panelists Pulitizer Prize Winning journalists Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward, and former White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus.

Then, on Wednesday, July 18, the topic is “Global Crisis and the American Dream – America First or America as a World Leader?” It will be presented as a YouTube video feed with moderator Leon Panetta and panelists former U.S. Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul, former Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Michele Flournoy, and political columnist George Will.

Both classes run 1-4 p.m. in the Berger Center.
