Solar viewing and Star PartyRobert Ferguson ObservatorySaturday June 9th 2018 - 11:00am to On June 9, solar viewing runs 11 a.m.- 3p.m. at the Robert Ferguson Observatory. View Earth’s closest star and learn about sunspots, prominences, flares and more. Observe with both visible light and radio telescopes. Free. Then, a Star Party starts at dusk (8 p.m.) when the Observatory’s three main telescopes are open for viewing. Presentations on astronomical topics will be given throughout the evening. Additional telescopes will be set up in front of the building and friendly and knowledgeable docents are available to answer your questions. $3 at the door.
