Pictures with the Press 2018
And the winner is...
Mamma sunflower reading the local paper to her babies, snapped by Cindy Belluomini in her Kenwood yard. Click here to enlarge
Even though we encouraged manipulated photography in this year’s summer photo contest, in the end, it was Cindy Belluomini’s undoctored photo of a sunflower, looking for all the world like a person reading the paper, that won us over. Many thanks to everyone who entered our contest!
Second place: Bill Stacy photographed this female Kodiak brown bear (Ursus arctos middendorff) during a a backpacking trip along Dog Salmon Creek on Kodiak Island, Alaska. This is the largest subspecies of the brown bear/grizzly, and obviously the most literate!
Third place: Boys with their toys – Loren Davis (on motorcycle) and longtime friend Kaz Kasmier enjoyed the Kenwood Press in Loreto, Mexico, along with a lot of other fun activities, like the Mexican 1000 offroad motorcycle race through the Baja Peninsula, which is what took Loren to Mexico in the first place.
