One Kenwood School Board vacancy
There will be an open seat on the Kenwood School District Board of Trustees beginning in December 2018. Two board incumbents did not file for re-election in the upcoming November election. One community member (Nate Lamar) did file for one of the positions, leaving the remaining three trustees to appoint the fifth board member from any interested applicants in the community. Continuing board members are Pat Alexander, Robin Stoecker and Fran Threewit.
Potential candidates should submit a letter of interest to the Kenwood School District Board of Trustees listing their qualifications and reasons for wanting to serve on the School Board. The letter must be submitted to the Kenwood School District Office by Nov. 1.
Board members serve a four-year term, beginning in December and serving through November 2022. In order to serve as a trustee, a person must be at least 18 years old and reside within the district boundaries of Kenwood School. The responsibilities of a Board member include working with the Superintendent, fiscal oversight of the district budget and monitoring district policies.
