Rebuilding by the numbers



Official numbers released last month by Sonoma Valley Fire and Rescue confirm that 140 residences burned in Kenwood, 183 in Glen Ellen, 3 in Eldridge, 48 in the Mayacamas area, and 33 in Schell-Vista.

As of Oct. 10, 44 permits had been applied for in the Kenwood area. Twenty-seven of those permits were under construction.

Single Family Dwellings (SFD) – 35 (includes 2 Mobile Homes)

Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU) – 9

In the Glen Ellen area, 60 permits had been applied for. One (a bridge on O’Donnell Lane) had been completed, and 27 others were under construction.

SFD – 53 (includes 2 Mobile Homes)

ADU – 6

Bridges – 1

Forty-four permits had been applied for in the Bennett Valley area, with 17 under construction.

SFD – 39 (includes 1 Mobile Home)

ADU – 4

Countywide 768 permits had been applied for, with 401 under construction and 28 completed.
