Kevin Donald Tonelli

tonelli

A lifelong resident of Sonoma County, Kevin was born in Santa Rosa and passed away in Petaluma at the age of 53. Beloved brother of Stephen Tonelli of Santa Rosa; loving uncle of Heather Tonelli of Huntsville, AR, and Stephenie Tonelli of Santa Rosa; and dear nephew of Donald Tonelli. He is also lovingly survived by three great nephews, Skyler, Shane and Jayden, and numerous cousins. Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Verde and LeRoy Tonelli and his sister Valerie Tonelli.

Kevin was a graduate of Montgomery High School, class of 1983, where he enjoyed wrestling. He played baseball in the Rincon Valley Little League program and years later coached his own little league team. During his childhood he enjoyed snow skiing and spending time at the family cabin in Lake Tahoe. Kevin was a partner in Superior Supplies Ready Mix Company which was started by his father and uncle. He started his career right out of high school as a material coordinator and worked his way up to batchman. An avid sportsman, he was a devoted fan of the 49ers and the SF Giants.

Kevin is remembered for his toughness and “never give up” attitude. He never complained about his disability and was always willing to try. He loved cracking jokes and making people laugh. Kevin truly had a joyful approach to life. He will be deeply missed.

Family and friends attended a funeral mass at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Santa Rosa on March 8.

If desired, donations in his memory may be made to the Kenwood Fireman’s Association, 9045 Sonoma Hwy., Kenwood, CA 95452.
