Audelssa releases new wines
Audelssa Estate Winery released five new wines on Sept. 3. All of the fall release wines are featured at the Audelssa tasting room in Glen Ellen every weekend throughout the month of September. Audelssa has been hailed by Robert Parker as an “impressive estate that continues to turn out sensational wines.”
Leading the list of fall release wines are wines from Audelssa’s own spectacular Mountain Terraces Vineyard, located on the Sonoma side of Mount Veeder, at elevations ranging between 600 and 1,800 feet above sea level. The combination of a variety of volcanic soils and unobstructed southwestern exposure provides extraordinary growing conditions for Bordeaux varietals. One of these wines is the 2007 Summit Reserve, a “Right Bank” inspired blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. It is layered and complex with a juicy middle, supple tannins and ample structure that should age effortlessly for a decade or more.
Also included in the fall release lineup is the 2007 Summit, a “Left Bank” inspired blend of 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 12.5% Cabernet Franc, 10% Malbec and 4.5% Petit Verdot that gets its structure and power from the Cabernet Sauvignon, femininity and elegance from the Merlot, aromatic complexity from the Cabernet Franc, juiciness and color from the Malbec as well as additional color and structure from the Petit Verdot. The 2007 Summit will go for $52.
Guests who find their way to the Audelssa tasting room any weekend during the month of September will be treated to tastings of all five of the fall release wines for just $5 (club members are free.) The wines will be accompanied by bite-sized sweet and savory cupcakes prepared by recent French Culinary Institute graduate Lizzy Brewer. Also in support of the fall release wines, Audelssa is celebrating Fall Release Weekend Sept. 25-27.
The Audelssa tasting room is located at 13647 Arnold Drive in Glen Ellen. For more information, go to 933-8514 or visit the website at www.audelssa.com.

Music at Olive & Vine
You can enjoy the amazing guitar tunes of Jaydub and Dino on Sept. 18, 7-10 p.m. when they play at Olive & Vine in Jack London Village in Glen Ellen. Jaydub and Dino are Jeff Falconer and Dennis Cordellos, two locals who played together in their first rock band in 1968, when they were both teenagers. Though eventually separated by geography and karmic flux, the boys followed remarkably similar trajectories, both enjoying long stints as professional rockers, achieving regional acclaim and having loads of fun – Dennis based in Phoenix, and Jeff in Atlanta.
They eventually reunited in Sonoma County in the early nineties, and have played together in many different aggregations since. Recognizing that some of their most fulfilling moments came when simply jamming on acoustic guitars, Jeff and Dennis decided to begin performing as an acoustic duo, and Jaydub and Dino was born. They went into Grizzly Studios in Petaluma in 2007 and recorded a CD, “Porch Groove.” The CD perfectly captures the feel of a Jaydub and Dino show: driving guitars, excellent tunes, soothing vocals, and the unmistakable, elusive essence of porch.
Olive & Vine is located in Jack London Village, 14301 Arnold Dr. in Glen Ellen.
