Out & About for October 15, 2009

Discover life-changing lessons about relationships, leadership and the creative power of play from a beautiful four-legged teacher: a horse! Equine expansion coach, Christine Cole hosts a 3-day workshop, “Inspiring Clarity,” Oct. 16-18. The workshop will be held at Full House Farm in Sebastopol, in the beautiful coastal hills of Sonoma County. Cost of the workshop is $575 and includes two lunches and a dinner. An author fee of $150 is available for people who would like to observe the workshop. Cole invites participants into a world of connection demonstrated by horses who are uncaged and unsaddled. Cole has learned a lifetime of lessons while working with these horses, which she translates into an easily accessible philosophy of living that is creative and inspiring. Reservations can be made by calling 888-596-6006 or 829-1561, or visit www.fullhousefarm.com.

The Dragon’s Head Inn Haunted House in Sonoma will be offering two weeks of terrifying thrills, from Leatherface, the lead character in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series, played by R.A. Mihailoff, to a full-blown wedding on Halloween with characters in costume. The Haunt discourages attendance by children under the age of 10, as some of the “scares” could be too much for the younger kids. The Haunt will include a “Scare Care” area for the young ones and will feature games, a maze, and a small kids’ inflatable haunted house. With the purchase of a general admission pass ($8-$10), the donation suggested for the play area is $2 per child. Dates are Oct. 16, 17, 23, 24, from 7-10 p.m., and Oct. 29, 30 and 31, from 7 p.m. to midnight. All of the proceeds benefit a variety of children’s charities. The Haunted House is located at 631 W. Spain St., Sonoma. Additional information is available at www.dragonsheadinn.com.
