Slow down in Oakmont
Dear Editor,
Even though speed limits in Oakmont are certainly safe enough to prevent accidents, there are drivers who are not driving within these limits. As a result many wild and domestic animals are being injured and killed by these uncaring drivers who don’t bother to stop to see if the animal can be helped.
Since these drivers won’t comply with the law, and the situation is becoming more serious each year, I would suggest speed bumps be added along these streets to force them to slow down, save the lives of many animals, and perhaps their own.

Wonderland a huge success
Dear Editor,
Wonderland, the Wine Country Film Festival’s evening fundraiser, was magical and successful. Over 275 attendees played croquet and other games with Alice and the Queen of Hearts, dined al fresco, and were the first to see Rob Reiner’s new film Flipped under the stars at Chateau St. Jean. Over $20,000 was raised to help WCFF support its year-round programs.
Special thanks goes to 60 businesses and individuals who generously supported the live and silent auction, to the main sponsor Chateau St. Jean and their staff, Film Festival interns, auction co-chairs, and volunteers, and to event partners including the Kenwood Press, Flamingo Resort, Always Movin’ Productions, Copy Store and More, and Hertz Rental Cars.
The Wine Country Film Festival dates are September 16-19, opening at Deerfield Ranch Winery with Ben Affleck’s new film The Town. For the first time WCFF will also show films at the new 3rd Street Cinema Art House in downtown Santa Rosa.
