“Souper Bowl” in the cave at Deerfield

On Saturday, Feb. 4, 6-9 p.m., Deerfield Ranch Winery is hosting a fundraiser to benefit the restoration of the Kenwood Marsh, protect the endangered Kenwood Marsh Checkerbloom plant, support the Kenwood School Ceramics program, and honor three local ceramic artists – Nicole Hummer, Beverly Prevost and Cynthia Hipkiss. The evening is organized by Fred Parker, the winery’s resident artist.
Dinner in the Grand Room will be a buffet featuring five different “soups” created by event chefs Robert Rex, John Young, Scott Grove and Bob Austin, which will be served in bowls made and donated by the ceramic artists. Besides soup, the dinner will include salad, bread, wine and dessert. Every guest will also receive a bag of take-home creations (including their own unique ceramic bowl). Also featured will be a display and sale of artworks created especially for this event.
Tickets are $45 per person and are available on Deerfield’s web site, www.deerfieldranch.com. Get your tickets soon, as seating is limited and the event is expected to sell out.
