Après le déluge...les potholes

The already atrocious condition of county roads was made even worse by the relentless rains of January and February. Motorists on Sonoma Mountain and Lawndale roads, among many others, have an endless series of potholes to negotiate, and most roads in Glen Ellen and Kenwood, other than main arteries, have deteriorating pavement, cracked asphalt and eroding roadbeds. On Feb. 17, a three-foot sink hole opened up over a compromised culvert on Keiser Road in Kenwood, to which Sonoma Country Transportation and Public Works speedily responded by covering it with large metal plates.
