Oakmont appoints new manager
Oakmont has hired a new general manager. Kevin Hubred will start Jan. 2, Oakmont Village Association President Gloria Young announced at a Dec. 6 board meeting.
Young called him a “seasoned, large-scale manager with 18 years of large-scale experience in Northern California.”
Hubred comes most recently from Community Association Management Services in the Sacramento area.
Young said Hubred’s experience includes building team spirit and working with local government and with Cal Fire.
“He brings a very special gift that our community needs right now after the firestorm we just went through,” Young said. “The directors are united in believing he will be a very calm presence in our community and will also teach us a planning approach to the issues that are facing us.”
“We had some great candidates,” Director Ken Heyman said.
Hubred will fill a post vacant since Cassie Turner left the OVA job in July.
A former manager, Ted Throndsen, returned part time for a part of the period, helping to manage the OVA.
Young said the board “is going to have the daunting task of extricating ourselves from management functions. It’s not our job to manage, that’s why we hire a manager.”
