Glen Ellen, Kenwood emergency preparedness classes

SCOPE (Sonoma Citizens Organized to Prepare for Emergencies) is a program that enables neighborhoods to prepare for disasters. Classes are normally three hours.

Training topics include:

• Organization

• Basic Fire Suppression Techniques

• Disaster Supplies

• Utilities Control

• Ready Set Go! Program for Wildland Fires

By organizing, citizens will be able to provide for themselves during a disaster.

If Kenwood or Glen Ellen citizens are interested in attending a SCOPE organizational session, contact Ben Gulson at beng@svfra.org or contact Sonoma Valley Fire at 996-2102. Ben is an engineer/paramedic with Sonoma Valley Fire & Rescue, and a volunteer with the Kenwood Fire Department.
