Celebrate Earth Day at Quarryhill
Saturday April 26th 2014 -
Quarryhill Botanical Garden in Glen Ellen is passionate about the environment, so it’s fitting that they celebrate Earth Day in a big way. On Saturday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Quarryhill will host an Earth Day event to honor what Mother Earth provides us and highlight the many ways we can protect it. This is a free family event and all ages are welcome.
Activities will include solar observing by the Sonoma County Astronomical Society and the Robert Ferguson Observatory; fly casting from Leland Fly Fishing Outfitter; Chinese dances performed by the Redwood Empire Chinese Association; archery by Archery for All Ages; educational displays from 4-H and the Sonoma County Beekeepers’ Association; arts & crafts, games, and face painting; fava bean planting; fire truck tours; rare reptile observing and handling from Sonoma Reptile Rescue; art for sale from members of the Artists’ Round Table; books from the Free Bookmobile of Sonoma County; complimentary popcorn courtesy of Reading Cinemas; and tea tastings from Tea Lifestyle Journal.
In addition to all of the festivities, don’t miss out on the once-a-year-only plant sale. It is an opportunity to obtain very rare plants at affordable prices.
