Youth Backpacking Camp at Sugarloaf

Sugarloaf State Park

Wednesday July 2016 - to

Tweens and teens ages 10-14 who are interested in backpacking should sign up now for Sonoma Ecology Center’s new three-day/two-night backpacking program at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park. Running July 6-8, the camp will provide an unforgettable experience exploring some of the more difficult trails of the park during the day and enjoying the peace and quiet of camping under the stars at night. Throughout camp, participants will be guided along trails where experienced leaders have extensive knowledge of flora and fauna, as well as camping tips and trail safety.

Every day trail time will be at least three to four hours. These camps are designed and led by Sonoma Ecology Center educator Tony Passantino. Emphasis will be on taking time, enjoying the views, exploring streams, and ensuring that participants are calm and comfortable in the outdoors. Passantino will strive to foster an appreciation for the wilderness, nature, and our local watershed. Both camps are $225 for members and $265 for nonmembers.
