Gordenker Quarry hike at Trione-Annadel State Park

Trione-Annadel State Park

Friday December 2nd 2016 - to

State Parks volunteers will lead a hike to a historical quarry site in Trione-Annadel State Park on Dec. 2. This hike is about eight miles long and with approximately 900 feet elevation change. The volunteer hike leader will share historical information along the hike and at the site. Learn about Joe Coney, owner of Annadel Farms, which encompassed most of the present-day state park; Wayne Valley, a Bay Area developer and owner of the Oakland Raiders, who tried to build a large exclusive golf community on the Annadel property; and how Trione-Annadel State Park became a reality in 1971.

No advance reservations needed. Cost is $7 park day use fee per car, payable at the park entrance stop sign. Be sure to bring layered clothing appropriate for weather conditions, hat, sunscreen, and water; trekking poles recommended. No horses or bikes due to a hiker-only trail on this hike.

Meet in the Richardson parking lot at the end of Channel Dr. (parking fees apply). Hike departs at 9 a.m. Restrooms and water available at the parking lot.
