Wildflower walk

Jack London State Park

Sunday March 12th 2017 - 10:00am to

Take a hike into early spring with the first “wildflower walk” of 2017 at Jack London State Historic Park on Sunday, March 12. Join park naturalist John Lynch for a slow-paced, 5-mile nature walk exploring mushrooms, wildflowers, birds and other animals, and learn how they adapt to the early spring conditions of the park. Some of the early bloomers that hikers might see are Indian Warrior, Mission Bells, Canyon Delphinium, Hound’s Tongue, and Western Trillium. Hike lasts from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Wear sturdy shoes and bring water, snacks, binoculars and cameras. Be prepared for muddy trails. This is a moderate walk for ages 11 and up. Meet in the Ranch parking lot. Rain cancels.

Reservations recommended; space limited to 20. Admission is $15 per person (includes $10 parking fee) and can be booked online at www.jacklondonpark.com.
