Get certified in Wilderness First Aid on May 15 and 16 at Sugarloaf State Park. Led by regionally renowned training organization Foster Calm, classes offer lots of hands-on skills practice. The emphasis is on making good decisions by staying calm and safe, doing a good patient assessment, and having good communication and leadership skills.

Wilderness First Aid will be held over two eight-hour days, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with focus on patient assessment, shock and bleeding, head and spinal injuries, wounds, musculoskeletal injuries, and heat and cold illnesses, and includes a half day of outdoor scenario practice of first aid and leadership skills. Gain tools and knowledge to handle a wilderness first aid emergency.

Successful completion of class earns a Wilderness First Aid certificate. Cost is $120. Contact Tony Passantino at tony@sonomaecologycenter.org or 996-0712 with questions.
