In this symposium, Dr. Tony Kashani will explore the ways in which we can implement a systemic approach to teaching critical media literacy in our school system. In the 21st century, the so-called “information age,” media literacy has become a necessity for a citizenry concerned about democratic engagement and authentic living. Santa Rosa Junior College Media Studies instructor Kashani is an author, professor, media expert, cultural critic and author.
