ParkRx - Hiking for Fitness series


Sugarloaf State Park

On Saturdays, Oct. 7-Dec. 2, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Another eight-week hiking series kicks off on Oct. 7. Program leaders will guide hikers on a series of increasingly challenging hikes each week. Open to all skill levels. Before the first hike, the leader will discuss things like proper shoes, hydration, incorporating hiking poles, and proper pacing. The Oct. 7 hike will be 2.2 miles with 80 feet of elevation gain. The group’s final hike will be to the top of Bald Mountain where hikers can enjoy the stunning 360-degree vistas. Hikes start at 9 a.m. The series costs $80, or free for hikers with a ParkRx from their Sonoma County medical provider. For more information on Park Rx visit parkrx-sonomacounty.org.
