Jack London Park winter bird walk

Jack London State Park

Saturday January 6th 2018 - 10:00am to

On Jan. 6, 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Carolyn Greene will host a guided nature walk to look at winter birds at Jack London State Historic Park. On this walk, participants will identify at least 10 bird species who reside in the park’s varied habitats. Binoculars are suggested but optional, as birds can also be identified by sound. Look also for seasonal fungi, early wildflowers and other park wildlife. The walk is approximately three miles on a mostly level trail. Families are welcome; wear good hiking shoes and bring a snack. Meet in the upper Ranch parking lot. Rain cancels. Cost is $10 per family, plus parking. Limited to 20 people.
