Intro to Backpacking

Sugarloaf State Park

Saturday March 3rd 2018 - 10:00am to

Saturday, March 3, 10 a.m.–1 p.m.

Join long-distance hiker and author Inga Aksamit for a three-hour course covering basics and examining gear. She will bring a fully packed backpack so you can see what’s in it. No actual hiking is involved in this instructional session. The goal is to introduce participants to modern backpacking techniques and equipment. You don’t need a heavy pack to enjoy a wilderness experience. If you have never backpacked before, or if it’s been decades since you have, this is for you! There will be tips for all – from backpacking with children to considerations for seniors. Inga is an experienced guide who’s hiked trails in the Sierra and beyond.

Tickets at www.brownpapertickets.com, search “Sugarloaf.”
