Birdwalk with Carolyn Greene

Quarryhill Botanical Garden

Saturday March 24th 2018 - 10:00am to

Quarryhill tour leader and certified California Naturalist Carolyn Greene will lead a spring bird walk throughout the garden on Saturday, March 24, from 10 a.m. to noon. She will help identify birds by sight and song, as well as teach about the plants they use for shelter and food. The birds she hopes to spot are ducks, hawks, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, jays, thrushes, warblers, towhees, sparrows and finches, and perhaps even cedar waxwings or a kingfisher.

The walk will be leisurely with some uphill; please wear good walking shoes. Bring binoculars, if you have them, and a snack. Carolyn Greene is a Quarryhill docent, board member of the Madrone Audubon Society, and active in the Redwood Region Ornithological Society.

Advanced registration is required, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the maintenance of the garden. If there is a heavy rain, the walk will be canceled. Register at www.quarryhillbg.org. $20 for nonmembers, $15 for members. Quarryhill is located at 12841 Sonoma Hwy., Glen Ellen. 996-3166.
