Simulated emergency drill in Oakmont


Thursday October 18th 2018 - to

The Oct. 18 emergency drill will run from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. It will be an Oakmont-wide drill and will include the COPE groups, the Zone Communicators and a network of amateur radio operators.

Eric McHenry, Santa Rosa’s chief information officer, has agreed to activate the Santa Rosa Emergency Operations Center for this event. The scenario will be a simulated magnitude 7.5 earthquake on the Hayward/Rodgers Creek fault affecting all of Santa Rosa. There will be loss of electricity, broken water mains, gas leaks and many injuries. All emergency services such as 9-1-1 will be down.
