Heritage Turkey Sunday Supper at Atwood Ranch
Sunday November 4th 2018 -
Come join the agricultural family table, featuring the Sonoma County 4-H Heritage Turkey Live Auction.
The Heritage Turkey Sunday Supper on Sunday, Nov. 4, at Atwood Ranch in Glen Ellen will be a family-style meal of foods from local farms and purveyors prepared by an all-star chef team, and featuring live and silent auctions. This event benefits local youth agriculture and Slow Food Russian River programs.
The Sunday Supper celebrates community, Sonoma County’s beautiful landscapes, bountiful farms and ranchland, and the people who grow the food and make the products that nourish both body and spirit. Your generosity will help to honor the legacy of the pioneers, and nurture the next generation – the future of agriculture.
The day begins at 3 p.m. with a farmstand reception until 4:30 p.m. and a turkey and live auction preview and silent auction. Visit with artisan farmers and makers, and enjoy appetizers, ciders and fine wines.
From 5 to 7:30 p.m. a four-course family-style dinner will be served, prepared by Daniel Kedan and a team of noted Bay Area chefs. The live auction and turkey auction will take place during this time.
Beneficiaries of the Sunday Supper include the Sonoma County 4-H Heritage Turkey Project. Launched in 2006, the Heritage Breeds Club has raised more than 2,400 turkeys. The kids are in charge of the project; buying their own feed, saving breeding pairs, and hatching healthy birds. The project has brought awareness to our community and farmers of all generations about the value of biodiversity, and supports the future of family farms.
Slow Food Russian River is also a beneficiary. The nonprofit organization provides educational tours and events showcasing the best Sonoma County has to offer in good, clean and fair agriculture and food. Projects include the Gravenstein Apple Presidium, Community Cider Press, School Garden Project, and, in partnership with local 4-H clubs, the Heritage Turkey Project. Since the fires of 2017, they also participate in programs supporting displaced agricultural workers and families of Sonoma County.
Tickets are $100 per person, or $2,500 for a hosted table of ten. Sponsorships cost $3,500 for a table of ten, and includes name or logo placement in all print and digital media. You will also enjoy vintner-curated wines and special gifts. Email firstname.lastname@example.org if you want to be a sponsor.
