Winter landscape photo workshop at Jack London

Learn how to tell winter’s story through your photography at a workshop scheduled for Jan. 26 and Jan. 27 at Jack London State Historic Park.

The winter landscape offers myriad inspiring subjects found in the mystery and moodiness of a foggy day, the allure of running water in a creek or a waterfall captured in a beautiful blur by a long exposure, a landscape complimented by moving storm clouds or steam rising on a frosty morning. In the workshop, learn how to create storytelling shots with the use of composition, color and contrast.

Learn from professional photographer Ron Berchin, who has traveled for years around the world on assignment for a variety of publications; Bob Long, park volunteer, who has created inspiring images for years as a film and digital photographer; and Deborah Large, the photographer for Jack London Park and a longtime nature photographer. Jan. 26 class runs 8-11:30 a.m. Jan. 27 class runs 9 a.m.-noon.

You can sign up for one or both classes. Receive a discount when you sign up for both.

Bring your DSLR, point and shoot or iPhone, camera manual, a tripod (if you have one), but most of all bring your enthusiasm to improve your camera skills. Cost is $35 per class.
