SIR 92 lunch features fire planning

The Oakmont Village Associationís (OVA) General Manager, Kevin Hubred will address fire prevention plans at the March 12 luncheon of Sons In Retirement (SIR) Branch 92, which starts at 11:30 a.m. in Berger Center.

Hubred has more than 20 years of experience professionally managing large-scale communities in northern California, and seven years of experience managing age-restricted active adult communities, ensuring the health, safety and welfare of the residents, while fostering the complex and progressive needs of aging community members.

Hubred also has more than six years of experience working with the national group Firewise Communities, developing plans and strategies for California defensible space requirements. He assisted in the development of the California Wildlife Protection Plan and the Vegetation Management Plan specific to the properties heís managed.

On Oct. 31, Hubred obtained the OVAís status as a Firewise USA Community. Additionally, he created a team of OVA members who assisted in submitting a grant request for $1.92 million in Cal Fire funds to assist OVA in their fire prevention efforts for the entire community.

Come hear the about plans if OVA is awarded the grant funds in April.
