Shoot for the stars at observatory


Robert Ferguson Observatory

The Robert Ferguson Observatory in Sugarloaf Ridge State Park is one of the hidden gems of Sonoma Valley.

On April 6, you have a chance to take advantage of two events.

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be a solar viewing, where you can listen to and safely observe earth's favorite star, the sun. Admission is free. From 8 p.m. to midnight, come for the Public Star Party. The Observatory's three main telescopes, plus additional telescopes, are open for viewing. Ongoing presentations on astronomical topics are given in the classroom. Friendly and knowledgeable docents are available to answer your questions. Admission is $8 per adult 18 and older, under 18 are free.

There is an $8 per car state park admission fee.
