Current Events Forum: American politics and elections.

On Friday, April 18, at 1 p.m., Current Events Forum has scheduled a presentation by Dr. Dave McCuan, Associate Professor of Political Science at Sonoma State University. He will give his analysis of what lies ahead in the Presidential election of 2008.

McCuan has been at SSU since 2003. He does research in two areas: campaigns and elections, and in the area of terrorism. His teaching responsibilities include courses in both international and national politics, state and local politics, campaigns and elections, and political behavior.

Dr. McCuan also focuses on maritime terrorism and the impact of terrorism on civil liberties. At SSU, McCuan serves as Graduate Coordinator for the Master’s in Public Administration program.

A question and answer period will follow the presentation.

The April 25 meeting of Current Events is set for open discussion by members of the group. Oakmont Current Events meets each Friday at 1 p.m. at the West Recreation Center, and is open to Oakmont residents and friends. For further information, call Hy Liebling, 539-4034.
