Vintage Festival 2008
Friday September 26 -
This year marks the 111th Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival, a Sonoma Valley tradition celebrating the valley’s bounty, community and local cuisine. The Vintage Festival takes place Sept. 26-28 in and around Sonoma’s historic Plaza. The Bundschu family will serve as Grand Marshals of this year’s festival.
Live music over the weekend includes guitarist David Lindley, Latino rock band Bautista, Ten Foot Tone, Natasha James, and Whiskey Thieves. The music is free and starts at noon on both Saturday and Sunday.
Food, wine, art, and family activities mark the weekend’s festivities, including dancing, children’s games, food and wine tasting, parade, historical reenactments, a wacky waiter’s relay race, and grape stomping.
Friday night is the Patron’s Night Gala, featuring more than 70 wines, delicious food, and music by the Richard Olsen 10-piece Big Band orchestra. Tickets are $75, and proceeds benefit the Sonoma Valley Little League, Valley of the Moon Little League, and the Native Sons of the Golden West.
The nonprofit Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival is organized each year by volunteers and benefits Sonoma Valley community projects and nonprofits. It is free and open to the public.
