The Sonoma County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Nov. 20 at 1:30 p.m. on the county’s draft Housing Element, in the Permit and Resource Management Department hearing room, 2550 Ventura Ave. in Santa Rosa.

The Housing Element of the county’s General Plan is a detailed statement of housing goals, objectives, policies, and programs for the unincorporated areas of Sonoma County. Its purpose is to guide decision-making by county officials regarding the need for housing, especially by low- and moderate-income families, special needs families, and individuals. The Housing Element also provides housing related data and information to the public on housing in the county.

This particular draft Housing Element will cover the period from 2007 to 2014.
