Start your 4th of July revelry at the 16th Annual Kenwood Community Church Pancake Feast.

The traditional 4th of July Pancake Breakfast will once again take place in the social hall and gardens of the Kenwood Community Church, from 7-11 a.m.

Tickets can be purchased as early as 6 a.m. The price for adults is $7 and for children ages 3 to 8 years old, $3. Runners participating in the footraces can receive a coupon worth $2 off the cost of breakfast (with their race entry fee).

“This event has become a big part of the Kenwood 4th of July celebration,” said KCC organizer Fran Threewit, who conceived the breakfast idea in the mid-1990s as a church fundraiser, “Proceeds from this year’s event will support the youth programs in the church and the community, as well as the necessities of maintaining the quality of this beautiful historical church.”

All community families, friends, and visitors can count on being warmly greeted as they are served a hearty breakfast of pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausages, fruit, coffee and juice.

Tables will be available in the church social hall as well as in the outside garden. Added attractions will be a display of patriotic quilts donated for the event by the Quilted Cottage and members of the Kenwood Church Quilters, and a silent auction of gifts donated by local merchants and citizens.
