GE Church offers Kids Kamp

Glen Ellen Community Church

Monday June 27th 2011 - to

The Glen Ellen Community Church is bringing kitchen fun to kids at the church’s annual, free summer Kids Kamp called the Shake It Up Caf. All children, ages four to 11 are invited. Once at Kamp, the children will become chefs-in-training at “Shake It Up Cafe” as they discover God’s recipe for living. After a high-energy opening at the Caf, the chefs will make their way to the “Kitchen la King,” where, interactive Bible lessons will reveal five secret ingredients for living the best life possible, and your young chefs will learn “Bible Bite” memory verses that will help them long after Kids Kamp is over. The children will expand on what they’ve learned by participating in a variety of activities, including art, singing, science experiments, sports, and, of course, snacks.

Kids Kamp is June 27-30, from 6-8 p.m. To register or to find out more about the Shake It Up Caf and/or the Parent Workshop, call the church office at 996-1479 or email kidskamp@live.com.

For parents of pre-schoolers, a no-charge parent empowerment workshop is being offered during the first three nights of Kids Kamp, at the same time as Kamp. Using the “1,2,3, 4 Parents” DVD series from Active Parenting, and facilitated by a licensed clinical social worker, Sandy Zimmermann, Ph.D., topics will include stages of child development, choosing the best way to parent your particular child, using positive discipline techniques, avoiding accidents and problems, and choices and consequences. For information and signups, contact Sandy at 996-0361 by June 20.
