Space limited for annual First Day Hike

Jack London State Historic Park will once again start off the New Year with its First Day Hike on Jan. 1, 2021, 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. But this time, the hike will be limited to 16 people, split into two groups of no more than eight people each, and start times will be staggered.

Jack London Park’s 8th Annual Hike to the Summit is part of the national “First Day Hikes” movement sponsored by America’s State Parks, offering an opportunity to kick off your New Year with a healthy start. This hike is designed for all fitness levels, with guides to help you return to the parking lot at any time. The entire hike is eight miles and moderately strenuous. Smile and be ready to have your picture taken at the top of the mountain while enjoying the views.

Rain will cancel. COVID-19 safety protocols will be adhered to with six-foot distancing between hikers (unless from the same household group). Masks must be carried and worn at any time you cannot stay six feet away from other hikers. Please bring your own mask. Cost is $10 per person, plus an additional parking fee of $10.
