“Ezell: Ballad of a Land Man”
Lecce-Chong says, “One of the major high- lights of our season will be giving the West Coast Premiere of Ellen Taaffe Zwilich’s Cello Concerto on our March program. With the performance streaming on YouTube, it’s also the first time audiences around the world will have a chance to hear this incredible new work performed by Grammy-winning cellist Zuill Bailey.” The performance can be watched live or afterward on video on the SRS’s YouTube channel for free, with a pre-concert talk presented at 2 p.m. as well.
On April 1st, the Green Music Center (GMC) presents the Clear Creek Creative team, who create art about living in nature and inspire others to enjoy what’s around them. They join the GMC to present their theatrical work, “Ezell: Ballad of a Land Man,” an environmental and spiritual story of one man at the foothills of Appalachia trying to discover himself and make sense of the condition in which we live. This presentation is meant to motivate viewers to continue discovering themselves. Tickets are $10 and can be viewed by the whole family at home on a computer or television.
