Spring plant sale

The Valley of the Moon Garden Club will hold its Spring Plant Sale on Saturday, May 1, from 9 to noon,

The sale will take place at Altamira School on Arnold Drive, just north of Boyes Boulevard. Plants on sale will be 4” pots of vegetables, annual and perennial flowering plants, succulents, and starts of plants from club members’ gardens, all at very reasonable prices. Club members will be present to assist with selection and information. Vehicles enter at the south entry to the school parking lot. Buyers are encouraged to bring small bills of cash; no credit cards are taken. Masks and social distancing observed as usual.

The VOM Garden Club supplies all school gardens in Sonoma Valley with plants, and proceeds from the plant sale benefit the gardens. Club members have supported the Sassarini Elementary School garden since inception with funds, plants, experience, and labor, and club members created and maintain the Monarch Pollinator Garden in Sonoma.

The club is the oldest (started in the mid-1950s) and largest garden club in Sonoma Valley with over 100 members, both men and women. Annual membership is usually $25, yet with COVID restrictions and monthly meetings withheld, the club is accepting donations by check at: VOMGC, P O Box 501, Vineburg, CA 95487. The club’s excellent monthly newsletter with gardening articles can be obtained by including your email address. For information: (707) 935-8986.
