Food drive at Oakmont

The nonprofit Sons in Retirement 92 (SIR) of Oakmont is supporting a non-perishable food collection drive. Organizers have placed Redwood Empire Food Bank barrels at three locations in Oakmont, the CAC, and at the East Rec. and West Rec. centers. The SIR members want to support those in need, especially victims of the recent wildfires.

Most-needed items are tuna and canned meat, peanut butter, canned soups, stews, chili, rice and dry beans, cereal, canned fruits and vegetables, high protein granola bars, and trail mix or nuts. Donated items cannot be in glass containers, perishable, open, homemade, or past their “use before” date.
