Upcoming GE-Kenwood Rotary meetings
If you’ve been thinking of checking out the Rotary Club of Glen Ellen-Kenwood, now is a great time to do so. The club meets on the first and third Wednesday of the month, 5:30-7 p.m., outside, at the Kenwood Depot, 314 Warm Springs Road. Some members and visitors choose to wear masks, which is welcome but not required.
After social time and club business, each meeting features an interesting speaker. On Sept. 15, Annie Falandes, founder of Homeless Action Sonoma, will speak on the group’s efforts to build a transitional facility for the homeless in Sonoma Valley. The speakers at the club’s Oct. 6 meeting will be Quinton and Liz Martins of the Glen Ellen-based conservation organization True Wild. Heather Irwin, founder of Sonoma Family Meal, will be featured at the Oct. 20 meeting, and Press Democrat photographer Kent Porter is slated for the Nov. 3 meeting.
Make sure you visit the Glen Ellen-Kenwood Rotary booth at the Glen Ellen Village Fair on Sunday, Oct. 10. Many thanks to all those who participated in the club’s Fantasy Golf raffle, helping raise close to $7,000 for the club’s service programs.
