Proposed Maple Street B&B drops events

Theodore and Joanna Luthin have dropped proposed events from their application for a bed & breakfast unit in their 1,500-square-foot, three-bedroom home at 50 Maple St. in Kenwood, next to VJB Cellars and behind W Real Estate and the Mayo Family Reserve Room.

According to Permit Sonoma Planner Eduardo Hernández, “The request for events was removed by the applicants, and the project only seeks to authorize the rental of two bedrooms and [an] online graphic design and event photography business.”

Further action on the permit request is waiting on a response from the county’s Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW), Hernández said.

The next step will be staff review of the project, along with the conditions, and preparation of a recommendation, which would be posted as a public notice. Hernández said this notice may be the often-called “hearing waiver,” indicating the intent of the county to conditionally approve the project without a hearing if no comments or requests for a hearing are provided in written form to Hernández’s attention within 10 days of the notice.

Anyone interested may ask to be sent a copy of the notice when issued. For more information, email [email protected] or call (707) 565-1735.
