Food for Thought’s “Dining out for Life”

Annual fundraiser set for Dec. 2

On Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021, nonprofit organization Food for Thought will host Sonoma County’s 20th annual Dining Out for Life event. Fifty local restaurants and cafes will participate, donating between 25 to 100 percent of the day’s sales to benefit Food for Thought, which provides healing food and nutrition services to people living with HIV and other serious medical conditions in Sonoma County.

“The Dining Out for Life event is our biggest and most delicious fundraiser of the year,” said Ron Karp, executive director of Food for Thought. “The 20th anniversary of the event holds special significance, falling just a day after AIDS World Day.

“Sonoma County restaurants have long supported people living with HIV, despite the hurdles that the restaurant industry has faced in the last couple of years,” Karp continued. “We are very grateful for all our current and past supporting restaurants and event sponsors. The proceeds from Dining Out for Life ensure that we can continue to provide life-sustaining services to people living with serious medical conditions who are also at risk of malnutrition.”

Diners can enjoy a variety of options at the event, from a fastcasual experience to a farm-to-table meal incorporating the best ingredients that Sonoma County has to offer. Participating restaurants are in Bodega Bay, Forestville, Geyserville, Guerneville, Healdsburg, Kenwood, Occidental, Petaluma, Rohnert Park, Santa Rosa, Sebastopol, Sonoma, and Windsor.
