Winery events on the agenda

By Chris Rooney

When it comes to tapping into the region’s biggest money-maker, how much is too much? That’s the question being discussed by the Sonoma County Planning Commission when they next convene to determine how many winery events should be permitted before it becomes a nuisance for the community.

The Planning Commission will hold a virtual public hearing on Thu., Feb. 17, no earlier than 1:05 p.m., to hear the draft Winery Events Ordinance that was continued in June and July of 2021. Permit Sonoma, a county department that oversees such things, will review new regulations for winery events.

The agenda for the virtual Planning Commission hearing and meeting materials will be posted one week prior to the hearing on the Planning Commission calendar. Visit and advance through the commission’s meeting link. The session will be held via videoconference — Zoom or phone. Written comments will be accepted in writing if received by 5 p.m. on Wed., Feb. 16, at [email protected] sonoma-county.
