What’s an Environmental Impact Report anyway?

SVCAC to hold special meeting March 9 at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom

The Sonoma Valley Citizens Advisory Commission (SVCAC) will hold a special informational meeting on March 9 at 6:30 p.m. Ex Officio Commissioner Greg Carr and Permit Sonoma will provide an overview of the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) process as it pertains to building in Sonoma County. The presentation will cover the entire EIR process from scoping through finalization, including opportunities for public engagement and input.

There are several high profile EIRs underway in Sonoma County, including the effort pertaining to the future of the Sonoma Developmental Center property in Eldridge, which is surrounded by Glen Ellen. Although specific EIRs may be mentioned during this session as examples, this meeting is not a presentation about a specific EIR, according to the meeting agenda published on Feb. 23.
