Pasta “to-go” fundraiser supports Kenwood sixth graders

By Jennifer Stenerson
At Kenwood Elementary School, we strive for the best educational program possible. An important part of this is our sixth-grade outdoor education program. After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, we are happy to be able to participate once again in outdoor ed this year.
This month our sixth graders will head to Westminster Woods for an exciting three-day trip. They will participate in team challenges, learn about our amazing woodlands, study nighttime ecology, test their resolve on the high ropes course, and more.
Traditionally we have had a large fundraising event at the Maple Ring in Kenwood to fund this program. Due to COVID-19, we were unable to do that this year. In an attempt to replenish our outdoor ed funds we are throwing a pasta feed fundraiser “to-go.” This event will take place Friday, April 8, from 4 to 6 p.m. All dinners must be ordered in advance; pre-orders are due by March 28.
What better way to celebrate the end of a busy week than with a delicious dinner for a good cause. The bargain price of $20 per ticket includes pasta from Pasta King, salad, bread, fizzy or still water, plus a delicious cookie donated by Village Bakery.
You can pick up order forms from the office at Kenwood Elementary School or email [email protected] for an order form. Tickets can be paid for in cash or by check payable to Kenwood Elementary. Donations are also accepted.
