Glen Ellen Fair 2022
By Shannon Lee
The 31st annual Glen Ellen Village Fair will be Sunday, Oct. 9, from noon to 5 p.m. The beloved traditional street fair will close down Arnold Drive between Warm Springs Road and London Ranch Road for the day. The space will be filled with vendors, food, music, a parade, and general small-town good vibes.
The theme this year is “The Tradition Continues,” and our Grand Marshal is the indefatigable Leslie Vaughn, who, after 11 years as president of the fair’s nonprofit, has stepped back from organizing so that she can enjoy the fruits of all the hard work. Vaughn has been an avid Glen Ellen volunteer, having helped with the fair, the school, local businesses, and advocacy for community concerns. Vaughn was one of the founding members of the Glen Ellen Forum.
The Glen Ellen Fair Association board now consists of Margie Foster (treasurer), Amanda Shone (secretary), Lisa Hardy (vice president), and Shannon Lee (president), with Janie Soto, Pat Carlin, and Leslie remaining as ex-officio/members at large.
As always, the fair will kick off with the best short parade you’ll ever experience, coming down from Gibson Street and along Arnold Drive to the Jack London Lodge.
Music will begin shortly after the parade on two stages. At the main stage in the post office parking lot, the lineup features No Account, Loosely Covered, and headlining will be the Tom Petty tribute band, Petty Rocks. The second stage is across from the Garden Court Cafe and will feature youth performers.
The fair typically boasts 80 vendor slots, offering everything from food to jewelry and art to information.
If you would like to be in the parade, be a vendor, know of a youth performer, would like to join the volunteer team, or have any questions related to the event, don’t hesitate to email [email protected] gmail.com or call Shannon at (818) 399-0425.
