Former “behind the scenes” rock impresario and Oakmont resident Nadine Condon has released her memoir, Confessions: Stories to Rock Your Soul, through Sonoma County’s boutique publisher, Mc-Caa Books.
The book is a collection of stories touching on her wildly varying life experiences. Sex, drugs, rock and roll, Jefferson Starship, Grace Slick, miracles, family, trauma, a Raiders Super Bowl ring, hospice work, love and loss, God, ruefulness, insight, faith, lack of faith, and characters straight out of a Dickens novel populate her moving reflections.
If you like “behind the scenes” music stories, or if you struggle with personal challenges, loss, and questions of spirituality, then you will enjoy this highly entertaining, very personal book, which was chosen the best unpublished manuscript at the Hollywood Book Festival in 2020.
To celebrate the release of her book, Condon is producing an Authors Book Faire in Oakmont on Saturday, July 9, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Berger Center in Oakmont, which will feature 20+ Sonoma County authors. The event is co-sponsored by the Soroptimists Oakmont Wine Country, which will be raising funds for educational scholarships.
Besides Condon, other authors include Peter Richardson (Savage Journey), Jonah Raskin (Beat Blues), Cynthia Goodwin (God-Inspired Devotionals for Daily Life!), Frederick Weisel (The Day He Left), Rebecca Rosenberg (Champagne Widows), and Elizabeth Vasquez (Purified in the Flames), an author who benefited from Soroptimist funding. A complete list of local participating authors will be available mid-June on Condon’s website.
