Redwood Empire Food Bank provides summer lunches for kids
By Mia Epstein
As schools let out for summer break, many children lose a meal source. Redwood Empire Food Bank is helping make sure kids don’t have to fear going hungry this summer.
The food bank provides meals to people in five counties, including Sonoma County, and has been providing these services since 1987. While staff at the food bank work all year-round, they understand the importance and heightened need for emergency food assistance during the summer season.
The initiative is called Every Child, Every Day, and includes many programs to address seasonal meal gaps for children. If you, or someone you know, needs assistance, visit refb.org for more information.
